Evidence-based, personalized support for children and families

Our Approach

At ASHA, our teaching program is built on scientific, evidence-based methods designed to support the individual learning needs of children with autism in the age group of 3 to 25 years. We use structured approaches with a mix of principles of ABA, TEACCH and PECS, along with other proven strategies, to create a personalised, nurturing and effective learning environment.

Each classroom maintains a 2:1 student–teacher ratio, ensuring that every child receives focused attention and guidance. In addition to individual learning, children participate in group sessions and circle time to help them build communication, social, and emotional skills in a supportive environment.

With a dedicated team of 44 special educators and teachers, each child is supported in a way that helps them reach their full potential.

Technology

The Enabling Inclusion (EI) App, a cloud-based software licensed from Amar Seva Sangam, helps our educators create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), track daily progress, plan next steps, and generate visual reports that show each child's development over time. The EI App is an integral part of our teaching and monitoring process, helping us combine technology with a personalized teaching approach for every student. Programs

We provide autism screening, psychoeducational assessments, as well as adaptive behaviour, speech and motor skills assessments. Physician, psychiatrist and behaviour management consultations are available on appointment basis.

Our Early Intervention program is a unique mother–child initiative designed for children aged 2–6 years with any form of disability. Conducted in two batches for three hours each day, the program actively involves mothers in the child's learning. Under the guidance of experienced special educators, mothers are trained and supported to work with their children both in the classroom and at home to maintain continuity. The program offers an integrated approach that includes speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, and parent counselling to ensure complete support for the child and family.

The Day School Education is a full-day program for children above the age of 6 years. Each child receives an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) tailored to their specific strengths, needs, and learning goals. The program focuses on building life skills and functional skills to promote greater independence and confidence. As the child grows older, the training gradually moves towards vocational skills training; preparing the student for a vocation or employment. Therapies such as speech and language therapy and physiotherapy are integrated into the daily schedule, along with a variety of activities including sports, yoga, music, art, dance, and expressive arts to ensure an engaging learning experience for every child.

A part of the Day School Program, pre-vocational and vocational skills training supports students aged 12 to 25 years in developing practical, work-ready skills. Training is offered across a range of skill areas including catering, product development, block printing, housekeeping, and basic office skills. The program prepares students for greater independence and future employment opportunities through structured, hands-on learning.

Parent Training

Parent training is an essential part of our approach, as parents play a consistent and influential role in a child's development. We offer a range of training opportunities to empower families and strengthen their role in their child's development:

Weekly Online Training

The sessions help parents understand their child's disability, learn effective teaching strategies, and manage day-to-day challenges with greater confidence.

Onsite Training

These sessions provide hands-on learning, practical demonstrations, and deeper insights into developmental and educational needs.

Portage Early Intervention Training

This two-week program is designed specifically for parents of children aged 2–6 years to provide a strong foundation in understanding typical development and developmental milestones.
